Demon Slayer Season 3 – Release Date Updates

Even though we’d love to know when Demon Slayer Season 3 will come out, we can only guess. Ufotable hasn’t said anything about “when,” which is a shame.

But if you look back at the studio’s work, you can see that it is always the same. There is usually a set time for the release of new content. So, we can figure out when the following Demon Slayer anime chapters will come out.

Yes, there is a minimal chance that it will come out in the fall or winter of 2022. But that’s very unlikely because if it were true, someone would have said something by now.

The official name for the third season of Demon Slayer is the Swordsmith Village arc. Until we hear about a release date, we have a new trailer and a look at the scary villains.

So, if you want to catch up and find out what we know so far about Demon Slayer season 3, the sequel to one of the best anime shows in recent years, then keep scrolling. We have rumors about the release date, a look ahead at which manga chapters it will adapt, and much more.

Release date rumors for Demon Slayer season 3

We haven’t heard anything official yet, but season 3 of Demon Slayer will likely release next year, maybe in the beginning or middle of 2023. We had hoped Fall 2022 would be a real possibility, but now that COVID is in place, that seems impossible.

In that case, a Winter or Spring 2023 release (January–April 2023) or a Fall 2023 release (September–October 2023) might be a good idea, especially since a Fall announcement was supposed to happen by now.

Some footage from the movie is in the new trailer, showing that production has been going well, but there’s still no release date. We can hope for Fall 2022, but at this point, 2023 is much more likely.

Season 3 Story: Swordsmith Village arc

Season 3 story: Swordsmith Village arc

The third season of Demon Slayer is called the Swordsmith Village Arc. Don’t worry. We won’t give away anything about the source material here, but we think it will cover manga chapters 100–127. The Entertainment District Arc also went from 70 to 99, so this season is likely to have 12 episodes, give or take a few.

It should involve Tanjiro going to Swordsmith Village to get a new weapon unless there are major changes. As luck would have it, an old weapon is in the village. But it’s not that simple because the story involves the Love and Mist Hashiras and maybe one or two Upper-Rank demons.

On a larger scale, the way the episode ended in the Entertainment District gave us a good idea of where Demon Slayer will likely go after season 3. Tengen is no longer in the game but still alive and well. He told Iguro that Tanjiro was the most likely person to take over for him as Hashira. From there, the Demon Slayers can finally go after Muzan Kibutsuji, the person they want to kill the most.

As part of the cast for the Swordsmith Village arc, Tanjiro (Natsuki Hanae), Zenitsu (Hiro Shimono), Inosuke (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), and Nezuko (Akari Kitou) will all be back.

Two other characters, the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanoji, who we’ve seen before in the show, will join them. You can also expect to see more Hashiras and members of the Twelve Upper Moons/Twelve Kibuki in future seasons. The official sketch of Doma, an Upper Moon, which will appear in season 3 of Demon Slayer, was just released.

In the first teaser for Demon Slayer’s third season, set in Swordsmith Village, we’re able to get an idea of what to expect.

As promised, the first trailer for season 3 of Demon Slayer has finally arrived. Sadly, most of the trailer is just a rehash of what we have already seen previously.

Though there are very few new scenes, the sizzle reel does show a few glimpses of new footage: Tanjiro is making a new sword (which he will use later in the film). You can watch it all above.

How to watch Demon Slayer Online

Crunchyroll now has Demon Slayer for you to watch. We think Demon Slayer season 3 will do the same and be available to stream on that site, especially since Funimation merged with that site. In some places, the first season is already ready to stream on Netflix.
